If I didn't know any better I would say that the person who had problems figuring out eye dominance has more problems than that. The first thing that popped into my mind was a questioning word, "lysdexia"?

depth perception

when you close one of your eyes, you loose 35% depth perception......obviously one ye with a scope but try for two eyes using the shotty, or the good ole' irons. It also gives you a wider field of view!
Not true.
I don't know where you got this info, but you've been misinformed.
You do not lose 35% of your depth perception when closing one eye.

As much as I HATE to admit that someone BESIDES me is right ...

I have been practicing two eyed shooting at over 10 yards. It is a bit weird, and I am not as fast with two eyes acquiring the site picture, yet. My mind is starting to "fade" the importance of the other eyes image. That is the only way I can describe it. The other rear site and other target is becoming "less significant" to my brain.
Another 2500 rounds and I might be good to go! Good thing I shoot 9mm not 45s!

It is a matter of dominance. If you must close one eye to make your brain pay attention to the eye lined up with the sight, then you must. Ace

At the range, I typically try to shoot with both eyes. It kind of gives you a better view of your target compared to your front and back sights.
