I found a 'prize' I think

I just purchased from a private party an original .303 Mark 5 Jungle Carbine stamped 3/45. Wood is a bit dinged up but still has the original finish on it and the bore is great. With the gun, I also got a few over 300 rounds of ammo from '60 and '75. I was tickled to get it all for $300.

BTW, the receiver, magazine and stock all have the same serial number.

Hope to get to shoot it soon, perhaps as soon as this afternoon. I'll let you know how it shoots.

Does the bolt match as well?

The number on the bolt has been buffed or some such and is very hard to read. I'm going to say no on the bolt matching.

You did very well. Congratulations.
Bought my second #5 at the Memphis gun show on Sept. 19th.

You might find that with a recoil pad, it feels about like a MN 44, but even if not-it won't hurt.
