Question on AAC Blackout Muzzle Brake how to install/time, shims not included?

Just bought the AAC muzzle brake "blackout" better known as. I looked at the package in a video only came with the unit no shims, the website(AAC) doesnt mention shims like the brakeout model does say its included.

How do I time this correctly?

** I am using a can **
I heard never to use a crush washer it damges the can

I heard if you use crush washers you can offline the can to baffle ratio, this is why I am wondering why doesnt the muzzle brake come with shims to time/line it propper to the barrel?

Muzzle brake or flash hider?

Blackout Flash Hider instructions.
Blackout Muzzle Brake instructions.
Breakout Compensator instructions.

All from here.

If you need to time, you can use the same shims the M16 used before they went with the crush washer. Available from Brownells for about $5 or 6.

AAC also has the Breakout2.0 now. It does not need to be timed, hence no shims included

Contact the company and ask them to send you the shims that should have come with the brake
