Remington 700 Bolt?

Bought a new Remington 700 ADL a white back, it had a black matte finish on it. When I tried to clean it with some CLP after, I could see that a lot of the finish seemingly rubbed off onto the cleaning cloth... does this go away after a while?

The 700 ADL I had was blued, and nothing would come off when cleaning it except crud it had picked up in being shot. I can't imagine what's going on with yours.

I don't see any way the guns finish would rub off. The matte finished guns probably hold more crud and I'm guessing you are just getting it off when cleaning.

Its normal. Clean it with brake cleaner then oil it lightly.
