Stocks for HD?

I'm going to turn my new (actually 1972) 870 Wingmaster into an HD gun. So what stock do you recommend? I like the Hogue stock with shortened LOP. I also like the MESA Tactical Ar adapter kit, www.mesatactical.com. But I've heard good things about the Knoxx Cop Stocks, although I don't care for the looks of it.

Are there any recoil pads that will significantly reduce the felt recoil or does the Grind-to-Fit pad on the Hogue do a good job?

No pistol grips with stocks. They are only good for breaching, and I don't intend to do much of that.

Remington is equipping all Police guns with their new R3 recoil pad.
These are made for Remington by Limbsaver.
Remington says the R3 reduces felt recoil by as much as 30% over other pads.

Actual users of the R3/Limbsaver say that buckshot or slugs feel like field loads.
The R3 is made to fit factory stocks, but Limbsaver makes a wide range of models to fit almost anything.
