Browning take-down BLR?

I had a Browning BLR 81 straight grip (old style, steel) in .308 that I now regret selling.

I am intrigued by the new BLR Takedown model recently introduced, and am considering it (even at twice what I sold the old one for...dohhh!).

Anyone have any experience with them? Is the pistol grip version the same as the straight grip version except for the grip style? I've read they they retain point of aim even after dis and re-assembly, if the scope is mounted on the receiver.

I generally hunt with a bolt gun here in MT, as we take shots out to 300+ yds often here. My friend who's hunted with his BLR for 20 yrs in VA shoots at distances that avg 100 yds or less usually...he LOVES it. I'm not sure how useful its inherent accuracy (whatever it is) would be out here in MT for me. Thoughts?

Any thoughts from 1st hand experience would be appreciated. Thanks
