Pics of my "new" 1932 Colt official police
Finally picked up my gun after the official ten day wait...again.
But this one was worth the wait. After seeing it again, I was surprised how pristine it really is. For it being 1932, this is all blue, nice and shiney. So had to share some pics. The holster I originally tooled and made for my hawes SA, but the Colt fit into it perfectly. Had some HKS speedloaders and the ones for the model 19 worked perfect. I think 350.00 for the gun in this condition was a great price! Love the lines of these old colts, and will be taking it to the range later this week. HVR

Absolutely beautiful handgun.
That leather holster unfortunately will destroy the bluing on the gun. Nice holster though. |

Thanks,
for now, the colt will not see too much holster wear. Going to build a nice case for it with felt lining. That gun is older than me!

either way you did good

Yes, it is a 5 inch barrel.
Are these more desireable than the shorter ones?

Nice
I've picked up a 1943-1944 4 in for about the price that you paid and in the same condition. Please tell me your not shooting +p in that! I know most .38s can shoot +p but not all the time unless rated. Good job on finding a wonderfull gun.

I'm sorry, but amid the pleasure of seeing such a finely crafted revolver such as that one, comes the mindless idiocy of reading where you had to wait 10 days before you could take posession of it. What, were government officials fearful you were going to try to use it against Elliot Ness and the Untouchables? Possibly that you were contemplating joining up with Bonnie and Clyde to go on some interstate crime spree? Or does it actually take a week and a half, in the fearful mind of some faceless bureaucrat, before you are deemed to be trustworthy enough to own it. I do apologize for going off course; that was not my original intention. It is indeed a fine example of a Colt Official Police, and thank you for sharing it with us.
