Where to buy 3" SP101 .38?
The gun auction sites have used examples. I'd like to find a nice NIB SP101 somewhere. Any ideas. Yes, they have been discontinued, and I know that the .357 will fire .38s. But somewhere there is an over-looked .38 w/ a 3" tube.
I had one years ago and, like a dumb a$$, sold it. Any good leads? I'll be looking at gun shows, but I thought I'd ask. Thanks! |

When you find this needle in the haystack, you will likely pay dearly for it. Is your quest to have one, NIB, unfired, to simply have one or are you looking for the 'pure' ballistics of the .38 model vs. shooting .38 from the .357 model?

Try Gunbroker #93628005, used but looks good, $399. My last NIB short-framed .38 SP101 was $500. The same old duffer has two more NIB's in the safe, serial numbers 570-00xxx. He wants $1250 for the pair. I'm hoping to work him down to $1000. These things are going the way of the S&W 696. Good Luck.

SP101 in 38......
There is one of these at a Gun/Pawn shop here in Ogden Utah. They've had it for months and it hasn't sold. The name of the place is The Gift House, you can call them at 801-394-8946. The ruger is used but in great shape. I can't seem to remember the price, but I think they will work with you a bit.

Thanks for the replies.
Sarg: I'm looking for the "pure" ballistics. I can't see using .357 indoors so the .38 makes more sense. I may as well get all I can from the .38 by using the .38 platform.
