Windham .308 AR

Been thinking about buying a Windham .308, reviews seem pretty good with no complaints heard? Anyone here have one, not interested in breaking the bank with something that might not get a whole lot of use but on the other hand want one that is problem free.
Thanks

I was just wondering if anybody in here had any experience with them other then me, and what did you think of the weapon? Personally I love my Windham AR. I bought the MPC and am more then happy with the gun so far. I have around 1500 rounds through it with just 2 malfunctions. Both having Rookie AR shooters behind the trigge who did not properly seat the mag. I've shot good xm193, m885 rounds as well as wolf and besides those two hiccup's which weren't the guns fault but the shooters fault. It's been flawless!

I've just been wondering if I'm the only one out there with any experience on the weapon or not. There not to old but have very good roots for the company and that why I decides to buy one( along with there all American feel good story) and thats why I am asking if I'm the only one. As they are relatively new and would like to hear from other and what they think.

My first AR-15 was a Windham .223/556. Bought it around four years ago. For the money, I had no complaints about this gun. Always worked perfectly. Since that time, I built three more ARs, that were more of the bank breaker variety. Haven't done any AR work for the last couple of years, but I'm buying parts for another. In the meantime, I think the Windham was a real good value. I sold it a few years back, and it's still working great for the present owner.

I have 2 early Bushmasters that have been flawless but what I was wondering was how are their AR 10 .308 offerings? Want to add heavy hitter to the toolbox.

I purchased a 5.56 Windham 20" government model a few years ago and couldn't ask for better. Excellent firearm and great company story too. They're a bit more costly than some but very well worth it imo.

Windham is made here in Maine where I live and they take great pride in what they make--when bushmaster packed their bags and bailed on Maine after being bought out--the original founder of Bushmaster reconstituted the company and focused on what the original company was like before it got McSupersized. I don't have one myself--but those I've talked to that do love them. They make some 308 carbines with wood furniture that I've seen in some gun stores--they are downright sexy and if I wasn't already overflowing with builds I'd love to get one.

I agree that the 5.56 Windham's are great but from the responce's there are not a lot of their .308/7.62X51 rifles out and about and AR10's are a whole different ball game.

They are but I would surely think WW is very consistent in quality. Here's some "real world" opinions, meaning non firearm magazine stuff.

Thank you very much for the great info, I've tried to research the best I could but the time I have free is limited. If any one comes across some info I'd love to hear it!

I work at a firearm store, and regularly buy parts from them. (I don't know if they are the cheapest, but their customer service is so gosh darn good.) I have sold a few of their rifles, and every customer enjoyed them. Windham is a good one.

Yep. A bonus. WW has great folks and excellent CS. Erik Winter is the "go to" guy over at https://www.ar15.com/forums/Industry...-Weaponry/489/ if you have a question or need a bit of help with a WW product.

He's one of Windham's gunsmiths and tech-support types. Hard to beat. Their personnel is a big reason why I promote WW.

I own one of the Hunter 308s with the wood furniture.
It is a very good quality damned heavy rifle which I've no intentions of parting with.
I doubt you'll be disappointed.

You can also play dress up with it like little girls do with Barbie Dolls to save the Sunday-go-to-meeting shoes for show.
