Stock Swap
Can anyone lend a helping hand.
Swapping the factory stock on a Remington 700 TAC AAC Short Action .308 With H-S Precision Vertical grip long range stock. Never swapped a stock before, looking any links explaining process. Or dos don't tips/hints from you experts. i like to fully understand the complete process before getting into a sticky situation. Any thing would be appreciated.

I have been doing this all day.
It is called "fitting". That means, where it does not fit, due to interference, make it fit, by removing some material. It is an iterative process. If you cannot see where it is not fitting, welcome to the club. Some rub black stuff on and see where it leaves marks, some put black stuff on with the smoke from a candle. Then where it does not fit, due to looseness, fill in the void where needed with bedding. Just be glad you are not starting with a block of wood.

If you bought the book, and believe it all, it may FEEL like an ad hominem attack, but you might strive to accept other points of view may exist. Are we a nation of competing ideas, or a nation of forced conformity of thought? |
