What is an E&E bag?

What is the purpose of an "Escape and Evasion" bag? I see these in the Blackhawk Industries catalogs. Is for when things go south in a hurry, you have to dump all your gear -- except for one little bag which contains life's essentials?

It's supposed to be for when you're stuck in a bad situation, and this small package is the only thing you've got space for; they usually contain things like maps, compass, water filter, matches, heat blanket, etc. The idea is that you'll be able to stay alive until you can get out on your own, or are rescued by friendly forces.

The E&E bag is the first component you put on and the last you take off.

It is part of the equipment loading rationale of most direct action military forces.

The E&E is part of your First Line gear. It may contain pistol ammo, emergency ration, compass, survival equip, extra map (with coded rally points and false egress routes), etc., etc.

This, along with other equipment, would never leave your body while enroute to/from target. You eat, sleep, and s**t with it.

If you remove your Second/ Third Line equipment (or ditch/lose it) and are stumbled upon by the opposition, you may have to "di di" without the benefit of all your gear.

The E&E is intentionally small so as to be relatively comfortable (therefore, no temptation to remove for the sake of comfort) but care must be taken in its assembly that it still meets valid contingencies effectively.

Generally, civilian uses would allow for bulkier, more comprehensive inventories in an E&E pack.

more information the E&E bag

what most designs have been seen on blackhawk gear however, E&E bags have been around for quite sometime from the first mountain men of jeddia springfield to Don Paul the united states, retired Green beret, which seeing such products invented by tactical companies have been claimed by these inventors is a misconception, reading our history tells us that this type of euipment has been used longer from our past decendents just simply modified to newer, fabric and better specs. the at most best E&E bag is the current end user "man" creating a system of like duffle bag with sowen compartments for survival eq, magazines for small arms weapons, maps, GPS, explosives, frequencies lists, manuals, sensitive documents compasses, Radios, Sat COm beacons, knifes, medical and, more the real deal E&E bag is would sold by DIAMOND BACK TACTICAL created by battle labs.

remember that first E&E bags have been around longer then SWAT, Military Special Ops Foreign and domestic and into the mainstream of spending a usless money on such products, it took a civilian to biuld one, while other claim they created it and, thus some f**ker got a patient on it lol! which goes to show for own private use can be modified without the stupid sccudle c**T, without marketing it. did i ruin it for your all lol, simply look back every one had these small bags just turning it to mods will create the difference simple thinking out side the box with sewing will make any thing.
