powder funnel sticking on press

I am fairly new to reloading, I have acquired a nice RCBS progressive press. It seems to work great except for the metal powder funnel seems to stick in the clear plastic tube that it is supposed to slide up and down in. This results in it not coming back down to make contact with the brass as the powder is dumped and it spills everywhere. Is there anything I can do to make this slide easier (some type of a lube that wont mess up the powder?). It may also be worth noting that the plastic tube has a crack in it, the crack was caused by the previous owner tightening the powder dispenser set screw too tightly. The crack appears to be cosmetic only because you cant feel it from either side.
