My First Dummy Rounds...Oops! Then Success!
On the left...my very first dummy round...yeah that didn't work so well. On the right the seating die properly adjusted to a length of 1.105". Thanks Peetza for the tips on final seating adjustment. Question though, on both cases the sizing die, scraped an extremely fine(think gold leaf) bit of brass from the case, in the same relative position on both cases. What is the solution to this or is this a problem? (Doesn't seem like it should be happening). The dies seem to be aligned properly as nothing unusual seems to happen during the other steps. |

Scraped from one side or scraped equally around perimeter of case?
Did you use any lube? (OP makes it sound like it was from one side) Did you clean the new die before using?

Lubrication would be my thought as well

just a small scrape on one side. I did not use case lube as I thought with carbide dies it was not needed. I'll try lubing one and see if that fixes it.

Tried another 2, one with and one without case lube. No scrapes on either. I wonder if maybe I did not have the initial cases seated properly in the shell holder?

either the first case lubed the die and thats all you needed or there was a burr on the die that fixed its self, i was going to suggest polishing your die but i guess its good
