I.D question

Hi all,
I swapped for a 4 screw 1860 replica, about 25 years ago, and had a few questions.

I THINK, it's an ASM. It has a date code of AD in a box on the right side. Also found is a DGG in a circle, on the bottom of the barrel by the trigger guard.. The serial # is SB166. I belive it to be made in about 1978, as the barrel is inscribed " Sam Bass centennial 1878-1978", also Round Rock Texas. Does any of this sound correct? It's unfired, and looks new.

Can anyone tell me what it may be worth ballpark? I don't shoot Black powder any more, and am thinking about selling off the 7 or 8 pistols I've collected over the years...Many thanks Guys.....

The AD in a box is the proof date code for 1978, so you are correct about the manufacture date. The circled DGG is the manufacturer's mark for Armi San Paolo, now Euroarms (the letters stand for the founders, Doninelli, Grassi and Gazzola).

Unfired, value is about $250.

I have seen two of these pistols at shows for up to 350.00 but they were still sitting there at the end of the show.

Everything I have from ASP/Euroarms is pretty derned good quality.

ASP is good, it's ASM you need to be leery of.
