Colt SAA vs New Vaquero holster interchangability

Will a holster for a Colt SAA fit a New Vaquero as well?

I need about 3 posts before I will go order one.

Thanks

Holster

Yes. How do I know? I own both and I've tried it. My holsters interchange just fine.

I guess I will have to make it 3 in a row. You shouldn't have any problems at all. Especially if You have an New Model Ruger Vaquero.

If you have a tight fitting holster like a Mernickle, your NM ruger probably won't fit in your SAA holster.

What about the Cheyenne holster?

It will probably work in that. The Ruger New Vaq is close to the size of a SAA but not exact.

Holster should fit both. I use Will Gormley's patterns and the same pattern is used for both SAA and NV. If the holster is vegetable tanned leather and a might tight on the NV, you can wet mold it to the NV if necessary. I have both a NV and SAA and the holsters I've made fit both revolvers equally well.
