Rem 11-87 Police Ghost Ring Defect
I was shooting my shotgun this weekend with Federal 000 buck 3" magnum loads. Lo and behold the friggin ghost ring breaks off! It cracked in two where it attached to the shotgun. What incredible quality, especially after less than 100 shells.

Sounds like time to contact Remington and get it fixed under the warranty, Dog. I'd suspect there was a bit of play in the mount and the slamming back under recoil was intensified.3" buck loads in a light 870 do kick a bit. I'd want the sights to be both silversoldered and screwed on, for use with that kind of load and mission.
