Pressure in 40 SW By bullet coating

I have been reloading a while, but not as experienced with pistols.

My question is, do FMJ'S in handguns, like 40 S&W, have higher pressures than plated or cast bullets? I have heard that there is more friction with a FMJ but maybe y'all can confirm it.
