First Colt Revolver

Picked up a Colt King Cobra. Always wanted a Colt double action and was at the right place at the right time.

Congratulations The KC is a durable accurate gun that should last you for decades or MORE.

Here's my first Colt, but not my last!

Fine looking Colt revolver, Willy. I've been looking for a nice, reasonably priced King Cobra for some time now. Still trying to "be in the right place at the right time".

Nice gun. I wonder if thats a Colt ultimate SS? I don't know how to tell the Colt bright vs bubba's polish apart. Someday maybe I will add this snake to my collection. I only got 2 snakes of 7 right now.

Can't be sure but it certainly looks like "ultimate bright stainless".

It does look like ultimate bright stainless to me, but I am no expert on this kind of "detail" with Colts. Hope you enjoy it!

Looking again I note the hammer seems to be less polished than the rest of the gun. This would indicate it's a standard gun thats been polished by a later owner. This is common with this fine gun. It takes away a bit from the originality but certainly doesn't affect it's superb shooting and handling qualities.

They are very sweet revolvers. And they can stand up to a steady diet of magnums.
