Baby Dragoon
Just had to show one of my fun guns. I am not all business. I remember I
paid 15.00 for this and 100 balls back in 1965. It is a .31 cal. I think it is called a 1849 Baby Dragoon. Sure is fun!! |

No
Oh, There are no markings of any kind anywhere on the gun except a serial
no. 7249. Nothing more. Not even proff marks. |

Yep, I have a baby dragoon that I bought used, from a friend, when I was in high school back in the late 70's. Mine looks nice but is a bit rickety now. Lots of nice engraving. Mine was an FIE import, made in Italy (stamped on the bottom of the backstrap if I remember right, I'll have to dig it out and see). Mine never see's powder or ball anymore.

Very nice piece, too bad you don't have any idea who made it. A while back was talking to a gunsmith and he commented about the new stuff not being as good as the older imports from years ago. Said some of the new frames arn't hardened as well as the older guns. They made some really nice stuff years back.
