Go to IDPA web sight they have a listing by state of clubs that shoot IDPA. I've been thinking of getting into it myself. I live in N.W. indiana and the club that I shoot CAS. at also has IDPA. It's in Chesterton IN. just off the Indiana toll road.

Lotsa good opportunities to compete within an hour drive of the northern Illinois / Chicagoland area:
IDPA clubs: http://www.racineidpa.com http://www.mchenryidpa.com NPCCC runs IDPA as well as steel plate and 3 gun competitions. Don't let the dated webpage fool you, the club is up and running: http://www.npccc.net If you like steel (who doesn't like steel ) check out the action pistol / shotgun matches and "Urban Cowboy" events at Bristol: http://www.bristolranges.com Go to one or two events and you'll meet the junkies who will tell you about a half dozen more. Be safe and have fun!! |

Re:
Stras..thanks for the listing, I did hear about the McHenry place. I printed everything off and hope to check things out....Could be fun gettin involved in that.
Keith, lots of guns in this area, just not so many places to shoot. Especially outdoors nearby. I have been trapped indoors for a long time...Would love the chance to shoot outside. mack

Mac,
There is an action pistol/shotgun match at Bristol Wednesday evening. It is outdoors and good fun. If you come, don't eat dinner - just bring raw meat; fire will be provided. I'll be the pale, roundish guy missing all the poppers. Keith, Actually, there's only one gun out here. It's a crossman 760, and we all have to pass it around. When we're done for the day, King Richard locks it up in his desk drawer |
