Winchester white box Rangers?

The local walmart has several boxes of Winchester ammo in a white box with black lettering.

Labeled 40S&W 180gr bonded JHP

I opened up a box, and it definitely looks like the Ranger hollowpoint, pedals and little talons/splines that fold into the cavity. It had a sealed primer and an aggressive taper crimp.

$20 for a box of 50.

So what do you guys think they are?

Edit: Plain brass cased, not nickel plated.

General issue cop ammo judging by the price.

I think they're basically Winchester PDX1 with regular brass casings that are law enforcement overstock or at least thats what I've read about them online.

Thats what I was thinking. Contract overrun or some other such reason that they are selling them to retailers.

Should be decent ammo I would think.

I will pick up a few boxes. I know the Rangers and PDX1 feed well in my CZ.

Lot of times some depts ask for brass instead of the nickle plated cases, its also possible that its not the Ranger T's and just there ole JHP.. which is now there PDX-1 ammo, Ive tested both the Ranger T's and JHP, and Im not a fan of the JHP the Ranger T's are much better, at expansion, but ya cant go wrong with either one...

LEO or military ammo surplus comes in black on white boxes. They have the red seal on the primer.

Yup red seal on the primer.

From what I have read, the new Ranger T and PDX1 are the same bullet.

From what I've read, the 124gr 9mm+P PDX1 is the same as Ranger Bonded, catalog #RA9BA. If this is correct, the 180gr 40S&W PDX1 is presumably the same as the 180gr Ranger Bonded RA40B.

This is from the Internet, so YMMV.
