Shooting sling for a kid?

I found a youth sized Marlin 15 Y single shot bolt .22 at the pawn shop the other day.
I'm a Grandpa kind of guy. The kids are involved in 4-H.
I'd like to set it up with something resembling the classic 1907 military sling.
At least a sling to learn to shoot with.

No,I can't answer the obvious measurement questions. Think 4th grade and a youth rifle, bigger than a Chipmunk but smaller than an M-1Carbine.

Does anyone make one for that market?

You can always pick one up at the Appleseed Project store. I'm not positive it will adjust down enough, however lots of kids take this course so I would give one a try.

They do offer web slings .Those work.
I'm looking for leather....But I'll keep it in mind as an option.

"...looking for leather..." I'd be making it, but I have all the tools and the leather. However, realistically, because people keep feeding 9 year olds, they grow like weeds. Any sling you buy now will need replacing in a year or less. However, leather can be more easily modified by poking more holes or cutting(too long is better than too short). Midway wants $22.99 for a repro 1" x 44" M1907 leather sling. Same one other places want $40 for. They have the swivel kits too. Lots of stock on a Marlin 15 Y to take the screws. Screws that can easily be cut as required anyway.
