looking for Mauser knowledge
Does anyone know if a 1891 Argentine barrel will fit a Spanish 1893 action?

Yes & No - the M91's bbl shank is too fat (.715" vs .645") & too long (.985" vs .980"), but the differences appear to be too close to alter the M91 bbl to M93 specs and obliterate the old bbl threads in the process. Someone who is good with a lathe can make it fit. It has the same thread pitch and a longer shank, the shank would need to be shortened and the threads chased out a few thousandths. All in all, not a terribly difficult job, but probably not for the hobbyist.
