Remington 300 Ideal Questions
I know the Peerless had its problems and detracters. That was supposed to be solved with the 300 Ideal. Still the 300 was only produced for one (1) year then replaced by the 332.
Anyone know why the 300 Ideal was only produced for one(1) year? |

I probably shouldn't even reply to this since I don't really know but it seems that I read somewhere that Remington just wasn't selling any of the 300s. They just renamed it the 332 so as to bring back memories of the old Model 32 which was apparently a very fine gun.

My $.02
I owned a Peerless! I own up to life's big boo boos!
Remington really screwed up with the Peerless. Poor quality and shoddy workmanship killed the gun. The 300 Ideal was just a Peerless reworked by the custom shop to try to correct it's faults. Didn't work. Guns have a terrible rep in the shooting community, well deserved too! The 332 is just the Peerless reworked, but it is still a Peerless at heart. The 332 is nowhere near what the Mod 32 was, or even the 3200. What is the old adage about lipstick on a Pig?
