Front Sight QC.

In a previous post I mentioned testing front sights for strength. I have heard of and seen Scattergun front sights that have come off. I always felt that silver brazing was the best way to go, but there are situations where the glued on front sight is the best option. I clean all areas with brake cleaner and remove all finish that will be under the sight. I also undercut the front bead base and install a cross pin. I have installed between 150 to 200 Scattergun front sights and have not had any come off.

If everything works right there should be a picture of my QC test. The MMC front sight is bent and torn. I bashed the Scattergun sight with a 3 pound hammer until the barrel squashed. It did not budge.
