San Diego CA police chief...in a generation.

Quote:
San Diego Police Chief, William Lansdowne said in an interview that the implementation of new gun laws will take guns off the streets of America within a generation.
Confiscation has to be part of the plan.

In his facist dreams.

He's a doddering old fool who clearly has no understanding of the Constitution nor of the legal construct known as a trust.

Let them keep believing that. Part of the anti-gun movement is based on an astonishing level of arrogance, and statements like that don't surprise me in the least.

Lansdowne's position on gun control appears to be in the minority among sheriffs across the nation, however.

As CNSNews.com previously reported, sheriffs from Florida to California have stated publicly that they will not comply with any new gun control measures proposed by the federal government.
What a maroon!

SDPD Officer's comment to that article:

I happen to know this person is in a leadership position with the department.

Quote:
Lansdowne's position is also in direct contradiction to the majority of his officers on this one as well. I know, I am one. Virtually every officer I know understands that the average law abiding, gun owning citizen poses no threat to our safety and therefore strongly supports the second amendment. Have your doubts? I am sure everyone reading this knows someone in law enforcement, someone who is still on the streets. Ask him or her their position on the second amendment. I am terribly disappointed by this commentary.

He's the Police Chief. Ask Masaad Ayoob. Those guys are the law enforcement mouthpieces to the Mayor. They say what he wants, or they look or a new job. While I would applaud the courage to say otherwise and tell his Mayor to take this job and shove it (Assuming said hypothetical chief feels differntly) I'm not going to fault them for choosing the paycheck that feeds their family.
