Looking for a great gunsmithing guide to do work on my 1911's. Any suggestions?

The absolute best is Jerry Kuhnhausen's "The Colt .45 Automatic: A Shop Manual".
Volume One is the most useful, but Volume Two has a lot of dimensional data and is also useful.

You can buy them from Brownell's, Midway, and many online and local booksellers can order them for you.
