Rolling Block .22?

Guys how are the Uberti Rolling Block .22LRs?

Hope their okay, because I ordered one just now. Have been wanting a Remington Rolling Block style rifle for years and years now. Have also been wanting a handy .22 single shot and it just seemed the natural course of things. Looked into getting an original Remington no. 4 but all the ones I saw for sale were about twice as expensive and I didn't want to worry about condition or lack of parts down the road. I'd also feel bad about dinging an original since I plan to use this as a field gun and for plinking fun.

Anyone have any experience with them? The price was right and it was sort of an impulse buy. Thanks!

I love rolling blocks type, never owned one.

Did more reading, all reports seem to laud the quality. I paid significantly lower than what other places were asking. Just can't wait to flick that little block up and down! Love the action and seems too cool for school. Will advise all on my thoughts when it gets here and I'll get it out to the range ASAP. Bought a little red plastic MTM .22 ammo belt pouch too.

The best that I can say, is that you are really going to enjoy this little beauty. I may be getting ahead of myself but you can replace the standard sights with a Vernier and front globe. They also make this, in a Mag …….

Keep in mind the quality of the 22 ammo you use makes major difference.

I have found Norma TAC and Match is quite good.

Best so far has been Elay Club. YRMV

I grew up on with an old Stevens (youth model) Rolling Block 22, and it suffered rolling block blow back, when I used high velocity ammo.

Looks like you even got a little figure in the wood. I really like the classic looks of that little rifle.
There is just something about the straight grip, curved butt, and the schnabel forend.
Very nice impulse buy.

Miroku makes a Winchester branded .22 rolling block - Model 1885 Hunter Rimfire - that is a beautiful gun. It is also a rather pricey gun. It has an octagon barrel and comes with very nice wood in the stock. I have the .17 HMR version and love it.

Ooh nice, I've thinking of like a #5 size (coild be way off on size) in some sort of under bored cartridge like 22 hornet. Fun stuff.

I looked it up, looks swell! That's actually a falling-block design, though.

I "accidentally" won one in 17hmr on gun broker earlier this year and a great little gun. I've had a few failure to ignites but you just pull the hammer back again and bang.

I'm honestly impressed with the quality of the wood and the finish of the metal, it is a beautiful gun.

Uberti's only glitch is triggers leave something to be desired. I've not owned a
new one but took a mint one on trade and a couple of my buddies bought new
ones. The small frame originals can be found reasonable if that's what you want.
They are in same class as Stevens Favorite as far as shooting. The bigger frames
get pricey. Mine was a 25rf Octogon barrel and it's got a Rem 513 Barrel on it
and shoots like a target gun. If you look hard you can find 25 & 32 Rfs very
reasonable if you catch them before they hit show circut. Rebarrel is easy on
these, or have 22 liner installed. My buddies call mine Quigley Junior because
of the target sights front and back. It's my official Turkey Shoot 22, super tuned
for the 100' shoots. The loope aperature in front sight is custom reamed for the
Bullseye. I enjoy winning the Turkey but more enjoyable is beating the snot out
of guys that say my rifle looks like a plumbing fitting.

My 1871 in .22LR has a really heavy trigger. Really heavy. Will need to eventually work on it. Only way to mount a peep sight is via a good tang peep. But... I really like the gun. It is a very small package too. Feels like a kids gun but I bought it due to the simplicity of design and the small size.

Hey gang! It's a good gun, very pretty. The trigger however is awful... incredibly heavy and I plan to have it worked on. Gun works nicely otherwise and I'm pleased.

The 1885 is indeed a falling block. Mine is a Browning and is made by Miroko.
