I have a 742 woodmaster that like all of that model has a very hard pull. Has anyone trieded an aftermarket sear and spring kit that fits this model rifle and other model Rem.shotguns. thanks, Smokey 63*

One of the experts on 742's is Ray Gregg owner of Bear Creek Guns in Seleah, WA. You might chat with him.

Take a Remington factory Hammer Spring & cut a coil off of it while checking trigger pull weight.

Bob's Gun Parts in Ohio , sells spring kits and trigger jobs . Their Patriot sear spring is a big improvment over the factory unit . I use them and like them ! The hammer spring isn't the one you want to modify , all that would do is cause light strikes !

Good news on the 742 sear kit. I've installed the lowest spring and sear, and was able to get a good clean 2.6 lb. pull average. We are ordering 2 more kits today. thanks guy's for all your input. Smokey 63*
