Thanks Bob. I looked earlier, but my computer hates the search function at Midway.

Try www.gunpartscorp.com .
The GPC number is 316840, Mfgr number is 076850000, cost about $2, plus S&H. Jim |

Why not just call S&W and ask for one?
S&W website Parts List: http://www.smith-wesson.com/wcsstore...ist_Retail.pdf M66 part # 074640000 $0.51 CENTER PIN SPRING They might even mail you one as a courtesy if you explain why you need one.

Now why didn't I think of that? Just used to dealing with parts for antiques, I guess.

S&W is one of the easiest gun companies from which to get many parts. They will restrict a few parts to gunsmiths and armorers, granted, but overall it's often pretty easy getting parts from them. A surprising amount of the time they won't even want to charge for the odd (inexpensive) part as a gesture of customer goodwill.
On the other hand, trying to deal with some of the other gun companies just for parts often makes using one of the aftermarket wholesale/retail companies seem much easier.
