590a1 loose stock

Hey fellas, noticed today at the range that my tactical stock on the 590 is pretty loose..only up and down motion, not side to side. Its the stock with the slots and spring to hold a few shells inside the stock. I bought the gun with that stock on it so its not like I did something wrong. Its only got maybe 50shots threw it too. Any ideas?

Take the recoil pad off and tighten it up...

See http://www.okiegunsmithshop.com/mossberg500.jpg and tighten Part # 4.

lpl (watch the springs in the magazines in the buttstock though, and everything should be unloaded, including the stock. Should be a #2 Phillips for the recoil pad screws and a big slot type screwdriver for the stock bolt.)
