Many years ago in the American Rifleman Magazine they introduced a formula that we could use to determine how big a game animal we could kill by using bullet weight velocity and distance. The results would come out in weight of animal rather than ft-lbs of energy witch is the same thing but we just do not relate to the ft-lbs like we do 300 lbs deer, 1300 lbs elk etc.
They called it "Optimum Game Weight"

Now that formula might seem intimidating, but believe me its not.
How do i know that?
Because I can do it. I was very poor with math. I suffered from ADD and not the math ADD
In the AR article it required one to use a scientific calculator, Ya Right! It can be done with a cell phone calculator!
How do i know?
I don't have to answer that do I.

I have this formula written in my Nozler reloading manual, and its at the hunting shack. We still have to much snow to get into the shack, But i will retrieve this info.
