6 - 24 x ?

Which scope in this power range is the best bang for the bucks ? It will go on a Tikka varmint rifle in 223 cal. and used for 100 to 300 + yards.

I have an athlon argos that i like very much. Good glass good tracking. $325ish. It is ffp so may not fit your desire. Very capable scope. I believe that they have a non ffp version that may be less $$$. Comes w scope caps that are junk

6-24 x50

My family shoots almost exclusively a Lucid Optics L5 6-24x50. We have at least 6 of them and have used them for years. They are a good value scope with a lifetime warranty.

5-25x50 Vortex Viper PST Gen II Second Focal Plane, that I have mounted on my BSA Martini Mark II in 22 long rifle.

First off, you don't need 6-20 power for varmints at that distance. A decent 4-12 will work just fine.
But i also understand want...
My choice was a Sightron STAC 4-20X50 with the MOA2 reticle.
Love this scope on everything from 25 yards out to 1,000 yards.
They also make a 3-16X42 STAC, which may sit better, and look better than the 4-20.

I'm going to put their SIH 3-10X42 with MOA reticle on the new to me Forbes 24B in 280 Rem.
Also on my Savage 111 in 7mm Rem Mag.

This is for target shooting in local club events. I am thinking FFP would be best for me
