Lube life question....
I am just getting back into shooting after a 3 year vacation away from it...My question is about the life of the bullet lube..My Lyman luber has a 3/4 of a stick of lub left in it and I was wondering if it is still good to use? I believe it is some of the S.P.G lube for black powder shooting...45-70....I will be using smokeless powder for my shooting now...
I notice the lube on the bullets is dry,so I plan to remove it,if you guys think it might not be still good..It will be good to get back into shooting again..Thank you for helping me out.John |

Lube should be fine, both on bullets and in sizer.
As Troy from Swamp People would say, "Shoot it! Shoot it!"

I'm still using grease and oil I got in 73 before I left active duty. As long as it's sealed so it doesn't oxidize it don't go bad.

The dried lube on the bullets can be helped ifin ya want by tumble lube em. My tumble lube is 45%alox 45%johnson paste floor wax 10% mineral spirits . Actually I take my wad cutters & dip em to the second lube groove then stand em on end to dry.
