6.5 Carcano
My dad has had this 6.5 Carcano for 30+ years. It takes 6.5x52 ammo but that's about all I know about it. I love this gun and am looking at buying one of my own and I need help finding out which company made this one. The one I'm looking into is Brescia and my dads isn't, so I want to identify his. Both this gun and the Brescia are similar to the M91 Calvary Carbine. My dads doesn't have the bayonet anymore and we took the extra piece of the site. Pics below, any help naming which company made this one would be great.
Also, the last pic is what the back site used to look like- but is not a pic of the actual rifle. |

I'm not up on the Carcano enough to identify the model of the first pic without seeing the front sight. Looks like a carbine or a TS model
The second pic shows a royal Army crown over the Fabrica d'Armi Terni marking made in 1943 at the royal Arms factory in Terni. JT |

FAT is the maker, R. E. Terni. made in 1943. Need to know the barrel length, has it been cut? Looks like a model 41 that has been sporterized, foreend cut down. Could be a Model 91, that sight sort of looks like a 91 rear sight. Need more pic's and barrel length.

Opinion: Stamped 43 with that rear sight and chopped wood ... was a M1941 rifle ... cut down. If the bore's decent ... a potential nice shooter.

Could be a M41. One unique feature of the M41 has a dual sling point, bottom of butt and left side of butt, like the Mausers.
