Rebarreling a Ruger #3 to 6.8mm SPC

Here is the latest project I’ve been seriously considering. I have a Ruger #3 single shot that I would like to re-barrel for the 6.8mm SPC to use as a medium range hunting rifle (up to 300yds). I want to use a heavy varmint weight barrel & I am an accuracy devotee. I want to optimize for bullets between 100 to 130gr. I'm assuming that I can get a new, smaller extractor from Ruger. I plan to install a beaver-tail forend.

Suggestions & comments please on:

Should it be chambered for 6.8mm SPC or SPC-II?
Ideal twist for 110gr bullets?
Suggested barrel length.
Will getting a scope base for the new barrel be a big problem?

Bumblebug, I have made 6 bolt action 6.8s. I have learned a few things about them too.

A single shot would be even easier.
