40 S&W and Power Pistol
Been trying some power pistol in 40 S&W. Real happy with the results.
From 4" XD40 155 XTP 8.5 gr PP @ 1.120 AVG 1240 FPS 180 XTP 6.6 PP @ 1.120 AVG 1030 FPS JIM |

I hear ya'... I'm also VERY happy with my PP .40 loads. (Though I don't load 'em quite as strong as you...) I also really like the 180 gr. XTPs. It's been a great combination for me too.

Yea, when I first chrono'd them, i was surprised, but they are under max, according to the latest Hornady manual
They show 8.9 max for the 155 ( 1250 FPS) and 7.1 max for the 180 (1050 FPS) , though I am getting close to those numbers with my reduced load JIM |

I love PP for my .40. I load 7.1 grns with a 180grn cast bullet and it shoots great!

Power pistol is my fav for 40 as well. Its all I use now. I also love the xtp bullet but who doesnt love hornady bullets. I do 7grs under the 155xtp and 6.3grs under the 180xtp. the 6.3 works best with all of my 40s. My glock likes lower velocity with the 180gr bullets.
