Oldest gun you hunt with?

We still take our old 1910 Ithaca Flues out once or twice per year to shoot doves just for sentimentality sake. What is the oldest/rarest gun you still hunt with?

I have not hunted for several years now due to bad knees, but within the last ten years or so I used my 6.5X55 Swedish Mauser that was made in 1905 for deer. I tagged a deer at about 175 yards with it back then. Now my eyes(and the tiny rear notch) are the limiting factor, but I won't put a scope on any of my old military rifles. I might still be able to shoot that far with other old rifles that have a rear peep sight.

I still shoot it, just haven't hunted with it in a while...

I took a deer this year with my mosin nagant dated 1929. Worked like a charm.

L.C. Smith hammer model with Royal steel barrels made in 1913. Had to restock it as years of too much oil caused the wood to come apart. It's a lot of fun, handles well and shoots great.

It has a new barrel, stock, trigger and all that, but a made in 1943 Ovideo Spanish Mauser in .270Win has taken many a deer for me.

I used to own a 1907 Swede Mauser in 6.5 x 55 - carbine model - great for deer; otherwise my oldest shotgun is only about 25 years old

Great grandpa's break action single shot 12 gauge Victor shotgun made just before 1900, exact year unknown. He took a bison, black bear, a couple of wolves with it and a lot of small game from rabbits to quail to feed his large family. I'm not as brave as he was I only shoot rabbits with it.

New Haven 600 AT (Mossberg 500) for quail and dove, and an old H&R Topper model 158 in .410 for wabbits. Think they are both over 25 years old- don't care- both do the trick

Shotgun? 1909 Ithaca Flues, my Grandfather's gun, still gets the occassional field trip. Lead shot and 3-3 1/4dr eq only. Still works as good as it did over 100 years ago, and that's good enough to bag game.

26", choked full & full (per Grandpa's order, and with the stock made to his measurments). Extractors, not ejectors. Three position safety, Fire, Safe, and "off" (unmarked position).

In my case that would be a Remington Wingmaster 870 30' full choke shotgun bought in 1958 for $60.

Currently, an 870 made in 1955.

Previously, Stevens SxSs made prior to WWII. And a H&R 16 my dad was given around 1928. No idea if it was new then.

1931 Winchester Model 12 in 16 gauge. Have shot dove, quail, snipe and ducks with it.

My dad served in Europe during WW-2. Just days before the war ended his unit occupied a small German town and all civilian weapons were collected and piled in the street. An officer told the men to help themselves, anything left would be burned. Dad picked out a 32" barreled double 12 made at the Belgain FN factory sometime prior to the beginning of the war. He built a wooden box and it cost him $1.50 to mail it home.

Dad will be 89 in Feb., hasn't hunted in years, but that gun goes duck hunting with me at least once each year.

I used to hunt with a Remington Rolling Block made in 1901. Had to sell it to pay medical bills when I was on disability.

Oldest one I hunt with (or own) is my '46 M44.

Have a '72 Hi-Power that goes after bunnies and squirrels, but that really doesn't seem very old.

Shotgun - a Parker VH 12 gauge....not sure of the year.

(added info 12/14/2011.) Found the date - made in 1905.

Rifle - a Springfield Trapdoor Carbine 1873.
