Benchmade Presidio knife. Axis Lock?

I was looking at the Bench Made Presidio knife on line. I havnt physically looked at one. Looks like a nice folder. What exactly is the Axis lock mechanism. I have a Kershaw with assisted opening & love it, is the Axis the same thing? It was hard to tell from the Benchmade website. It did say that the Axis lock has a wound spring.

I have that knife and it is an awesome knife. The axis is not an assisted opener. The "button" you see in the pictures slides straight back and then the blade will just rotate freely. You can then flick it out. Or you can just use the thunb stud on the blade and open it. That way it just cams the lock out of the way. When the blade is fully open the lock slides forward locking the blade open. Very strong system. I don't think you could break it.
