How many of you shoot rifles with the 1x48 twist? What loads do you get the best accuracy with? Fess up guys-pet loads! Roundball, sabot, minie ball? 1x66 is supposed to be optimal for roundball and 1x20something for the newer sabots, so what are our barrels shooting?
I get my best accuracy from 240grain .44's (brand is irrelevant) in an MMP plastic sabot. I use that over 90grains of Pyrodex as a hunting load in my .50 Grey Hawk.

1:66 for rb.
1:48 for conicals.
1:32 or faster for sabots.
You just have to try different projectiles and loads to see what agrees with your weapon of choice.

I've got a TC Renegade flintlock that I built from a kit.

Accuracy is OK, but nothing really to write home about.

It's got the compromise twist barrel.

I thought about replacing it with a Getz barrel optimized for roundball, but then I moved from Pennsylvania (where only roundball, flintlock, open sights are legal for the muzzleloader season) to Metro Washington, DC.
