*IF* I have a knife with me, it's a pocket knife and more of a tool than a weapon. Any knife I might have won't be worth anything in a fight but I like having a pocket knife with other tool attachments so my answer was "No" because the context of the question led me to believe the OP was asking about a weapon class of knife. The only "weapon" I carry is my gun.

Unfortunately, I live in Michigan, where it is illegal to carry any concealed knives for self-defense. Kind of irritating, huh?

Out of old habit, I always have some sort of knife, light, firestarter, keys and wallet on me, along with whatever I am carrying for the day. It's kind of like putting socks on before your shoes.
Lol...in fact, I fill my pockets before I out my shoes on. No Rambo gear...very small tools that I use all the time. |

I carry both daily even though I'm pretty sure I could shoot a box open.

I always carry a knife. I really like my benchmade and my sog spring assist. Both are so handy. I use them for all kinds of stuff. Have never used them defensively.

I've carried a knife (at least one) every day of my life since I was something like 5 years old.
Right now I usually carry three; two different pocket knives, and a Leatherman Wave tool. None of my knives are designed or intended for SD use, although I suppose they could be used that way in a severe pinch. My ideas for knife fighting are along the lines of: Carry a gun for back-up. If you need the knife, use the gun. So, I carry (and usually use) knives daily, but they have little or nothing to do with the fact that I also carry a firearm at the same time. My knives get used pretty regularly for cutting tasks, evidenced by the fact that I sharpen them far more often than I clean my EDC handgun. Daryl |

I too always have a knife with me, most of the time a fixed blade drop point 8" cowboy style. I feel I could bring a knife to bear much faster in very close quarters than a concealed gun. More like, "don't bring a gun to a knife fight".

Have carried a folding knife at all times for many, many years (long before getting a permit to carry).
In my opinion it is the most useful tool you can own.

I carry my knife more than my firearm as I can't carry at work..........but it's only about a 1 1/2" folding knife for everyday use, does that count?

Colubrid,
Could you pan the camera up a bit more next time? I'm more interested in seeing what was beyond your toes on that last pic you posted!
