DOB s&w spc ctg
Just acquired a S&W SPC CTG 38 with 2" brl ser C 201XXX. Anybody have a idea when it was made. 5 screw pre model 10 I assume but new in the sidearm arena. Where I can I find a manual or exploded view of this little beauty?

The C serial number would put it sometime after World War II.
What kind of front sight does it have on it? A round half moon, or a ramp & post of some type? If the half moon, it's pre-1954 or so, and with no model number it's pre 1957. A manual can be ordered directly from S&W that will cover it. S&W revolvers have changed VERY little since World War II. An exploded view can be easily obtained by googling.

C201XXX would put it in the 1948 (starting at C1) to 1952 (ending at C233,999) period.

It has a half moon front sight, not much else distinctive. Looks a lots like all the K frames. Left to me by a family death, originally carried by a federal agent(FBI or Secret Svc) so the story goes. First S&W, I'm prone to long guns.
