shotgun not shooting straight

i noticed on my 870 with 18 in barrel that it shoots to the right of any bullseye im really not sure why the barrel is brand new is it possible the barrel is a little off i never noticed it with the field barrel that was on the gun before

If the only thing that's changed is the barrel, it's the barrel.

Where did the old one shoot?

the old barrel shot straight i think the new barrel may be defective its a remington 18 bs cb police barrel/ should i send it back to remington

Get someone else to shoot it just to make sure.If it is the barrel, call Remington (1-800-243-9700) and talk to them.

You didn't buy one of those shotguns from a "Tom and Jerrry" cartoon that shoots around corners did you?

i figured out why my 870 was shooting a little off center inoticed my bead sight wasnt straight up it was tilted to the left a little when i loosened the magcap the barrel kinda shifted back where the bead was now straight up i had twisted the barrel a little when i tightened my magcap i had my fingers around the barrel and cap causing the barrel to be tilted a little i tightened the cap back just snug by just holding just the cap and not putting any pressure on the barrel accidently with my fingers or thumb i guess this makes sense/ live and learn i always say/ now it shoots straight
