Savage mdl 110 Cal 7mm Rem Mag
i'm in the process of buying a new scope for my rifle. I found a Nikon P-223 AR Rifle Scope - 4-12x40mm - BDC 600 w/ RAT, since it says AR does this mean that it is only for AR rifles? I am new to all this and would appreciate any and all feedback.

The dots for shooting at long range are calibrated for specific 223 loads. You'll be able to use it if you want. Actual shooting will likely show the dots are pretty darn close. If one of them is calibrated for 200 yards with a 223 you may find it is actually a 220 yard zero for your 7 mag. The actual trajectories of most common rounds are a lot closer than many realize.
