Need help with old savage .270 110 PLEASE!!
I've got a savage .270 model 110.
The serial number is F066000 I called savage, but since the gun was manufactured prior to 1990, they can't give me any info. I was about to try to sell this gun for around $350 but now I think I may be making a mistake. Can anyone please tell me the value, and what the stock is made of? It's in excellent condition for being at least 25 years old. DSCN8531.JPG DSCN8534.JPG DSCN8535.JPG |

That's called a "laminate" stock. Think of it as pretty plywood. Used Savage 110s can be had for under $300 without too much trouble. The laminate stock may add a few more dollars. Your asking price of $350 isn't out of line from what I can tell.

The closest modern equivalent, with a traditional wood stock sell brand new for about $550 with scope. Brand new, with a plastic stock, they sell for between $350-$450 with scope. Brand new with a laminate stock, they sell for about $685 without scope but that's a rather high-end gun.
It's not really the same gun though. I would think $350 for yours would be closer to the high end than the low.
