Supernatural Tactics

Always looking to improve my tactical training in supernatural situations.
Watch Supernatural regularly for this purpose, very educational.

I see that Dean never cocks his single-action 1911 when clearing buildings and otherwise pointing it at people & other entities.
While Sam always does cock his double-action Taurus.

The tactical reasoning behind this is intriguing.
I suspect it may possibly reflect something of a Canadian influence in approach, with the show being filmed in Canada.

I'm curious about the thought behind this practice.
It does seem to work for them.
What am I missing here?

I never cocked my 1911 before clearing a bldg or answering a hot call either. May e thats cause it was always cocked in the holster. Lol

"...a Canadian influence..." We're a lot spookier than we let on. Every current military SOP for an attack was invented by the Canadian Corps during W.W. I too.
However, Roy, Hoppy, John Wayne nor the Long Ranger ever reloaded. Counted 14 shots out of an SAA one time. And Kojak could hit a bad guy on a 4 story building with a 2" .38 every time without using the sight groove. snicker.

Supernatural powers at work -- closing the thread to better protect themselves from natural beings who become too skilled.
