I think we have pretty much taken M1 Garand chamber pressure which drifted into M1 Garand gas cylinder pressure about as far as we can tale it. Ideally use ammunition which falls into the pressure range the rifle was designed to correctly function with or modify the gas system with a different gas plug as was mentioned. There isn't much else to say.
