A lot of folks vote based on emotion and not facts or philosophies. I suspect some people who voted for Regan voted for Clinton, then voted for Bush, then voted for Obama. So, they aren't really developing some consistent world view and then find a candidate who most matches that view. Trump wasn't my first choice and is sort of a buffoon, but he's done a decent job. However, I fear many would prefer to vote for a inept hipster approved candidate than a good executive who happens to be a jerk.

Beto is no worse than Biden himself. Biden wants to ban all "AR-14's" because "no one needs 100 bullets or a machine gun". Heck he got in a yelling fight about this with some pro-2nd Amendment union workers.

I don't know that Biden has the mental capacity to form an agenda beyond getting elected. The guy seriously is just senile.

Beto is dangerous. But I'm not convinced Biden/party wants that VP - to us gun rights are a #1 issue, is like a #4 for most Democrat voters, running on that alone is a recipe for failure.

Bernie I was hoping would win the nomination, but ain't happening. Not because I like him but because he's softer on gun control, ie has an actual stand of his own that's not off the charts compared to others, is basically un-ellectable due to the communism, and even if he was elected I think everyone would fight him so nothing would actually get done - nearly the perfect plan B.

November is a long way off. I wouldn’t worry as much now, as there is a lot of time for Uncle Joe to open his mouth many more times....

Who will that make a difference to. Not anyone with an open mind! Heard of any of them lately?

It will make a difference to the 5% in the middle / on the fence, that often decide the election.
This isn’t “2 sides” only. It’s one of 1000 positions between 2 extremes.

People who wouldn't otherwise bother to vote because they think the result isn't consequential.

That's the other edge of the sword that is DJT's style too.

The thought that has been bouncing around in my mind lately is should it happen and Biden actually wins in November is who is his VP? Frankly, Biden seems to be slipping mentally (Alzheimer's?) and I would not be all that surprised that a month or two after the inauguration he states that he is resigning from the presidency for reasons of health. If the dems hold the House, the wouldn't Pelosi be in line as the replacement VP? What a revolting development that would be.

No. It's covered in the 25th Amendment to the Constitution:

https://www.usconstitution.net/xconst_Am25.html

Quote:
Amendment 25 - Presidential Disability and Succession

1. In case of the removal of the President from office or of his death or resignation, the Vice President shall become President.

2. Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.

3. Whenever the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that he is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, and until he transmits to them a written declaration to the contrary, such powers and duties shall be discharged by the Vice President as Acting President.

4. Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.
This is how Ford became President. Nixon's VP, Spiro T. Agnew, resigned from office and Nixon named Ford as the replacement. Then Nixon resigned, so Ford became President. Ford was not the Speaker of the House at the time, he was the House minority leader.

When Ford became President, he named Nelson Rockefeller as his VP. Rockefeller also was not the Speaker of the House. If Biden were to be elected and then bow out, the replacement President could nominate Pelosi as the new VP, but it wouldn't be automatic.

Schumer has had a red flag applied to him by Gun Owners of America..

The factory worker should have went w/ Biden "outside" but hed probably ended up in jail--not sleepy.

Just remember there are 6 full months till election day. More gaffes and many more will realize Joes cheese fell off his cracker long time ago.

He has had 40 good years at the public trough. Time for someone else.

The "virus crisis" seems to be pushing gun control onto the back burner, for now. Keep an eye on what they do, and don't do about their gun control policies when they don't make big public announcements.

Still a long way to November, and really, nothing they say or do matters until then.

Also, watch for gun control measures tucked away in Emergency Response and Various Funding Bills.
