Need help from the Browning Guys
I have found something that I cant find any info on. It is the BROWNING EVOLVE SPORTING. It is the 2 3/4 chamber 28 inch barrel with the ports.
How does the gun work and hold up. If any one know the bore it would be nice. From what I can tell it is the gun that turned into the new Win super x3. Last edited by SumToy Custom Barrel; November 10, 2008 at 03:46 AM. |

Browning Gold Evolve Sporting was in the 2007 catalog - but I thinks it was dropped sometime in 2008. It was a semi-auto available only in 12ga but it was available in either 28" or 30" barrel / it did have 2 3/4" chamber - pretty standard drop at comb, drop at heel as I recall ( maybe a little more drop at heel than some other similar models). I think full retail on it was about $ 1,275 - and as I recall it was a little lighter than other models at right around 7 lbs.
I'm sure there are still some floating around out there. I did not see it in the current Browning on-line catalog either in the "gold" section or the "silver" section but that's the area of the catalog it was in, in 2007. It is possible they dropped it from the Browning lineup / when they brought out the X-3 in the Winchester subsidiary lineup - but I don't know. Last edited by BigJimP; November 10, 2008 at 03:06 PM. Big Jim Thanks.
I have found 16 of them. I know the Browning make a good gun with a 670 to a 680 choke with the bigger bore. May have to go bigger for what yall do with them. LOL Put a 680 in a BPS trap and it will put 200 to 220 shot in 4X4 card at 72 feet. |
