I believe they are.. 7.62mm NATO :
The outer dimensions should meet same specs. as commercial .308 Win. ammunition. M 59 (Ball)plain tip Bullet : 150 gr. Powder : WC 846 - 46grs. [OR] IMR 4475 - 41 grs. M 60 (HIGH PRESSURE TEST)stannic stained case Bullet : 173gr. Powder : IMR4475 - 41grs. Used only to proof test weapons. This thing develops something like 70,000 psi! Don't even think about it.... M 61 (AP)black tip Bullet : 150 gr. Powder : WC 846 - 46grs. [OR] IMR 4475 - 41grs. M 62 (Tracer)orange tip Bullet : 142gr. Powder : WC 846 - 46 grs. real purdy at nite M 62 (Tracer- overhead fire)red tip Bullet : 146gr. Powder : WC 846 - 46grs. M 63 (Dummy)6 long dents around case Bullet : 68gr. Powder : Nuthin M 64 (Grenade firing Blank)rose crimp Bullet : It'd screw up yer whole day if it had one. Powder : WC 830-45grs.[OR]HPC4-37grs[OR]IMR8097-40grs. M 80 (Ball)plain tip Bullet : 147gr. Powder :WC846-46grs.[OR]IMR8138-41.5grs.[OR]IMR4475-41grs. M 82 (Blank)crimped mouth Bullet : None Powder : SR4759-17.5grs.[OR]HPC-2-14.5grs.[OR]WC818-14.5grs. M 118 (Match)"Match" or"NM" on case head Bullet : 173gr. Powder : IMR 4895-42grs,[OR]WC846-44grs. M 852 (Match)sez "Match" or "NM" on case too but has a itty bitty hole in end of bullet Bullet : 168gr. HPBT Powder : IMR 4895 - 42grs. I hear this is the favorite of the fed. boys at Waco. M 160 (Frangible Ball)green tip, white annulus Bullet : 105gr. Powder : SR8074-10.5grs.[OR]HPC 8-10.5grs.[OR]WC140-11.4grs. M 172 (Dummy - loaded)no primer or vent hole Bullet : 147gr. Powder : Nuttin but a bunch o trash M198 (Ball, Duplex) green tip Bullet : 82gr. (front) ; 83gr.(rear) Powder : WC846? - 45.5grs Yep, two bullets in one case I'm not sure of any of these specs. - hope it helps. List comes from compiling different sources. Don't Load up any of these using above info. These Loads are for Discussion Purposes ONLY!!! Whew, I hope I've covered my butt enough. If ya blows up yer gun it ain't mah fault... so there. |

Fred,
Click on http://www.ar15.com/books/ and download TM42-0001-27.pdf. Should provide a good starting point. :-) |

I shoot National Match Rifle (Military service) M14. The M852 stuff is the █████ when it comes to accuracy from an M14 or M1. 200, 300, 500 yards, dosen't matter, always spot on with the windage charts! Use Sierra bullets to duplicate.
